English

In English this term we will be focusing on reading Non-Chronological reports, analysing them to identify genre features and using these skills to write our own Non-Chronological report which links to our science work (Animals including humans). Towards the end of the term, we will be exploring stories with a familiar setting. This will involve looking at a variety of different stories, analysing these to develop our understanding so that we can write our own stories with a familiar setting. 

 

In our reading comprehension lessons we will be reading the text ‘The missing nose’, focusing on skills which enable us to sequence events and interpret meaning. It is really important that we encourage all children to read a variety of texts both in school and at home. Support from home is really crucial in helping the children develop the reading skills they will be developing this term so please encourage your children to read.
