What happens when the Earth moves?
Our Geography topic during Summer 2 will be looking at Volcanoes and Earthquakes: what they are, where they are and why they happen. We will be creating our own Volcanoes using paper mache and chemical reactions! We will also be investigating what causes Earthquakes and Tsunamis.
Summer 1 - What Fuels Our Body
This term the children will be learning about food groups and what makes a healthy diet. We will also be investigating what else is needed to make a healthy, happy person. As it such a short term, Instruction Writing is to be incorporated into topic.

As scientists this term, we will be learning about animals including humans. We will be exploring the diets, skeleton and muscles of animals including humans and have the opportunity to research various animals to inspire our English writing genre (Non-Chronological reports).
The focus for our computing topic this term is ‘we are presenters’, during this topic the children will be designing presentations, creating them using software and presenting these to the class.
In French this term, we will be focusing on describing ourselves and others using basic French phrases. Students from David Neiper will be accompanying us, providing us with expert French skills.
PE is taught every Wednesday. This term the children are focusing on healthy habits which can be incorporated into team games such as dodgeball. All children need to remember to bring their PE and leave it in school. If you have any difficulties organising your child's PE kit please speak to their class teacher and they will be more than happy to help.
PSHCE this half term will focus on difference, diversity and being proud of who we are. We will be celebrating how and why we are all different by looking at our families, our appearance, our likes and dislikes and our abilities. We will also be learning ways to challenge stereotypes and tackle discrimination.
