Happy Children Inspired to Learn

This term our topic is “Is Britain Great?” as part of this we will be focusing on Britain during the 60’s and 70’s – music, fashion, art and the general culture at this time. To showcase all of the fabulous work we will be doing, we plan to hold a Beatles Extravaganza on Friday 7th December – more information to follow closer to the time.

Wider Curriculum:

As scientists this term, we will be learning about electricity and creating some circuits.

On a Monday afternoon Mr. Moore teaches Computing in Year 6. This term our computing topic is “We are app planners.” We will be learning about the capabilities of smartphones, think of a problem that a smartphone or tablet app could solve, and then pitch the idea for our app.

PE will be on a Wednesday with Mr. White where we will be focusing on fencing using foils. We may occasionally have extra PE sessions at various times so we suggest that PE kits are kept in school at all times.

SMSC is taught on a Wednesday afternoon. This term we are focusing on ‘What makes a good friend’ and ‘saying no to Bullying’.

RE is also taught on a Wednesday afternoon. In RE we are looking at ‘Why is pilgrimage important to some religious believers?”

French this term will be looking at basic French skills such as greetings.
