Our Year 4 and Year 6 Woodbridge Sports Mini Leaders

Woodbridge Sports Mini Leaders

This year we have given pupils in year 4 and year 6 the opportunity to take on the role of being a Woodbridge Sports Mini Leader, learning new skills and being responsible members of the school community, promoting being physically active.

Our Sports Mini Leaders are building vital skills such as: responsibility, maturity, confidence and communication. They are becoming more confident in their ability to lead a group of other students safely, in sports and physical activities.

They all show our learning attitudes: More Than Just me, Thinking For Myself, Dare To Be Different, I Can Do It, Aiming High and How Well Did I Do? These are shown through our Woodbridge Values: Aspiration, Confidence, Respect, Resilience, Creativity, Responsibility and Pride.

Our Sports Mini Leaders help to engage, involve and give opportunity to all children to participate in sports activities and being physically active at break and lunch times. They take pride in their role and respectfully fulfil their responsibilities, which include:

  • Collecting the equipment needed for that breaktime or lunchtime
  • Setting up the equipment, either outside or in the hall (weather depending)
  • Starting the sport/activity as required
  • Oversee the sport/activity taking place, responsibly, fairly, considerately and respectfully.
  • Collecting all the equipment and putting it away tidily.
