Happy Children Inspired to Learn

Summer Term 1

Our trip the the National Space Centre 22.5.25 - We've had a brilliant day! We started the day with a 'It IS Rocket Science' workshop' where we learnt about the processes and physics behind rocket launches. We also watched a few rocket demonstrations which were really cool! After, we went to the Planetarium where we travelled through the solar system, learning about each planet. After, we explored the different exhibits and looked at some of the amazing technology that has been used in space. The best part was exploring the Rocket Tower. There was so much to see, learn and do. A wonderful day with wonderful memories made.

16.05.25 Value Winners: Respect

Week 4 - Monday 12th May to Friday 16th May. We've had a very busy week. In maths, we have finished our unit of shape, learning about how to identify regular and irregular shapes, the properties of polygons and the properties of 3D shapes. We had great fun using the 3D shapes, too. In English, we have been learning all about poetry, exploring a range of poetry and developing our poetry skills. We are really looking forward to writing these poems up next week. Our computing lessons have been super exciting, too. This term we have been developing our Vector drawing skills and on Tuesday we put all these skills together to create our own drawings - they are very impressive. In history, we explored the way the people of Benin lived, while under the reign of the Oba (King). We learnt that the people could only approach the Oba on their knees and wasn't allowed to look at him. We also learnt that the Obas were treated like gods and owned all of the land in the kingdom. We concluded that it must have been a scary time for people because they had to always obey the Oba, even if they thought he was wrong. Finally, we finished the week with ice-lollies on the field to celebrate a successful week.
