Wednesday 15th October- We had a fantastic orienteering session to promote the new local initiative here in Alfreton called "Beat the Street".
Monday 13th October- In Science we've been looking at evolution and adaptation. Following Charles Darwin's research on finches, we did our own investigation.

Monday 6th October- In Geography we've been looking at how pollution is affecting our planet and in particular the animals on it. Today we looked at the polar bear. Look at all these hardworking Eagles!
Friday 3rd October- In DT we're going to be making a diorama which includes a moving fish powered by pneumatics. Wow! Today we worked on our prototypes. It was fiddly but definitely fun!
We used our reading book 'The Arrival' to inspire our drama.

Weds 9th October. In our Science lesson on evolution and adaptation, we did a practical activity called "Battle of the Beaks" to see which "beak" had the best shape and size to feed us!!!
Tuesday 8th October -Look att the fantastic homework Darcey, Harper and Max have produced on our theme of protecting our planet.
Weds 2nd Oct. We really enjoyed our trip to The Deep in Hull. In the morning we had a really interesting workshop learning about the negative impact plastic has on our oceans. After lunch, we saw all the wonderful marine life. The highlight has to be travelling through a shark tank in a glass lift! I hope you enjoy the photos. I had to delete many because they were too dark but hopefully these photos will show you what a lovely visit it was.

Tuesday 24th September Using an atlas to locate sea turtles in their natural environment. We're looking at how plastic pollution is threatening their survival.
