Autumn 1
Autumn 1, Week 6: In Geography, we went on a field trip to collect data. We gathered information on both physical and human features. We also looked at how the land is used, which helped us understand the features of our environment.
Autumn 1, Week 6: We went to the zoo and the class made lots of cross curricular links! In Science, we discussed different skeletons and animal diets. We connected new vocabulary, such as animals living in solitude, to a character from our book. We also used multiplication to count animals, organised the, into categories and even heard the lions teaching their cubs to roar!
Autumn 1, Week 6: In Zones of Regulation, the Foxes were identifying and recognising the emotions they were feeling. We explored different scenarios and they discussed which zone each situation would belong to.
Autumn 1, Week 6: This term, we have been reading Arthur and The Golden Rope. We used the conscience alley to share our ideas and explore how the townsfolk’s opinions of Arthur changed throughout the story.
Autumn 1, Week 5 - In P.E, Foxes played beanbag golf, an activity designed to keep children active while improving their fitness. It also helps develop a varied throwing techniques, such as underarm throws and throwing over difference distances.
Autumn 1, Week 4 - In Art, Foxes used the techniques they have developed to create a sky with watercolours.
Autumn 1, Week 3 - In P.E, the Foxes explored developed a new jumping technique and focused on achieving greater distance.
Autumn 1, Week 2 - Foxes continued to strengthen their understanding of place value by using concrete resources and place value sheets.
Autumn 1, Week 2 - In Art, Foxes explored a range of painting techniques and were able to build colour to make the desired effect.
Autumn 1, Week 2 - Foxes have been using concrete resources and place value sheets to help them understand place value, addition and subtraction.
Autumn 1, Week 1 - In Science, Foxes explored different skeleton types. They identified the 3 main purposes and were able to explain the function of each purpose.
Autumn 1, Week 1 - In Art, Foxes explored the work of water colour artists. They discussed the biggest change they noticed in the colours, from the earliest to the most recent art work.
Autumn 1, Week 1 - In Computing, Foxes have been exploring the question ‘How does a digital device work?’
Autumn 1, Week1 - Foxes are focusing on athletics this term. In their first lesson they worked on jumping and shuttle relays.
