Summer 2

Week 2
This week we have continued to build on our programming skills on Scratch and have edited a dinosaur programme to include both infinite and count-controlled loops. We have also continued the exploration of David Miller's art by experimenting on the type of media we would like to use - we have used oil, pastels, chalk, poster paint, watercolours crayons and felt tips. We have produced some amazingly vibrant coral.

Week 1

This week we have been enjoying becoming familiar with our new books and their characters. With our partners, we have been comparing and contrasting the robot Roz (The Wild Robot) with the other animals on the island, as she tries to become friends with them. We have also been analysing the art work of David Miller who specialises in seascapes in vivid colours.

Here are some of our thoughts on his artwork:

EK - I loved the glowing dolphins under the vibrant sea.
LU - I enjoyed seeing the waterfall above the colourful reef with the fishes swimming non-stop.
AS - The shapes I can see are squares, triangles and circles. Sometimes shapes in painting are really hard to do. I think David Miller has very good taste in art.
