Week 3 of spring term is my favourite of the year, British Science Week!
We have had an amazing time, solving crimes, watching live lessons and finding out if toast really does always land buttered side down.
Alongside Science, we have been adding and subtracting fractions in Maths, using grid references in Geography and practising our sewing skills in Design and Technology!
Our star of the week winners for confidence are shown below.
Week 2 of the term, and we can really feel spring in the air. We continued to improve our wheelchair skills, starting to practise how to shoot into a net. In Geography, we drew our own 8 point compasses, then went out into a playground, found north, and noticed what we could see in each compass direction. We had a great day on world book day, dressing up as obscure vocabulary. In Art, we explored the work of Kandinsky and created our own versions. Finally, in maths, we got our heads around equivalent fractions.
Our second 'star of the week' assembly winners are showing off their beaming smiles for winning the award for respect.
Welcome to week 1 of our second Spring term. This half-term we are lucky enough to experience PE as a wheelchair user. This gives the class a great level of appreciation for athletes who compete with the aid of a wheelchair. We began our design and technology unit by exploring different fabrics and discussing the best purposes for certain fabrics. In maths, we continued to develop our understanding of counting with fractions, comparing fractions and recognising fractions.
Well done to these three children for being our stars of the week!
