Topic:

Our topic question this term is ‘Were the Vikings really vile?’ During this topic we will identify when the Viking era took place and where the Vikings originated. We will look at Viking artefacts and discuss what they were used for and what they were made from. We will explore Vikings homes and their lifestyle detailing why they were successful.  

Science:

In science this term we will be learning about Living things and their habitats. To start this topic, we will consolidate our prior Year 4 knowledge looking at familiar animals and their habitats. We will explore how animals are classified based on where they live, what they eat and their features. As we progress throughout the topic we will look at micro-organisms and how we classify them. Finally we will carry out our own scientific enquiry of the local environment and classify the animals and micro-organisms.
