Our amazing Basketball Team

I was so proud to receive this email from Rob Shaw from Amber Valley Sports Partnership who organised the Basketball Tournament our team attended yesterday:

As I mentioned to staff last evening a couple of other schools went out of their way to highlight to me how fantastic Woodbridge were at the Basketball event! They mentioned how positive, hard-working and sportsmanlike the team were throughout the evening!

Unfortunately I was positioned on the opposite court and therefore gave our Spirit of the Games award to another school who were also very deserving winners of it, however its very, very rare I get such glowing reports from other school’s on the effort and teamwork of another school so I think it would be remiss of me not to offer a Spirit of the Games award to Woodbridge also

Rob will be coming into school to present this very special award to the team soon. #Pride#Aspiration#Confidence

Countess of Wessex Visit

We had a fabulous afternoon on Tuesday when the Countess of Wessex came to officially open David Nieper Academy. Once again the behaviour and attitude of our children made us very proud!

The team of parents, children and community members who helped to build our Eco Greenhouse came to lunch on Wednesday. Thanks very much to everyone. It's wonderful to be part of such an amazingly generous and caring community.

Children in Need

Thanks for your generosity! We have raised £283 today for Children in Need. Everyone looked fantastic too! Well done to the girls who were sponsored to stay silent for the day. They will have raised £99 when all the sponsorship money is in. It was very quiet down Year 6 corridor! Wonderful effort, girls! We are very proud of you!

Royal Visit

Exciting news! Sophie, Countess of Wessex, will be officially opening David Nieper Academy next Tuesday 20th November. We will all be going over to watch her helicopter land and to cheer and wave flags as she comes into the building. We will be back in school for the end of the day as usual.
