Families Moving Forwards Group
Details: Families Moving Forwards is a group intervention dedicated to parents and caregivers of primary school aged children. Research tells us that the most effective way to support the emotional well-being of children under the age of 12 years, is through supporting parents and/or caregivers to support their child. The course aims to help parents and caregivers to understand childhood distress and also to develop some strategies for supporting their child or young person with anxiety, low mood or distressed behaviours.
Families Moving Forwards is delivered over 3 weeks, each session lasting for an hour. It will also be followed up by a check-in phone call from one of the practitioners in our team. The group covers several topics including;
- Child development and feelings
- What feelings do
- Tips for supporting children with their feelings
