Happy Children Inspired to Learn

Summer 2

It was a big week in rabbit class this week. We began the week joining in a live lesson with Chester zoo, to look at the biome of a rainforest and the animals that live there. In French, we began to write our own comic strip of the story, Goldilocks and three bears. Then, we had some visitors in rabbit’s class this week. Woodbridge hosted our two transition days on Thursday and Friday, so I was joined by my new class of 2025. We had a great time exploring number bonds in maths and designing our own factory based on a very beautiful video from The Literacy Shed. After, we used watercolours to create our dream aspiration jars for all of those goals that we want to achieve next year. They were a pleasure to teach and I cannot wait to see what we can learn next year.

Well done these two wonderful pupils, for being so respectful last week.

This week, in Rabbits’, we began our practice for the upcoming sports day, fingers crossed for nice, warm weather. In maths, we continued our chapter on shape, exploring polygons, regular polygons and irregular polygons. We then got practical, using strips of paper to create our own shapes. In science, we explored how animals’ teeth have adapted to their diet and biome. In art, we had a wonderful afternoon, creating monochromatic paintings of fish using the primary colours to create various hues for our upcoming seascape art piece.

As always, we are mega proud of our star of the week winners!

The rabbits had a creative week this week. We had a showcase of one of our pupils art work, which we were all so impressed with. We then tested various art mediums and evaluated their effectiveness. This is all in preparation for our upcoming project of our seascape.

Celebrating our creative rabbits, well done team!

First week of our final term as year four students and we have had a blast. In PE, we began our batting skills lessons with some cricket techniques. In science, we explore different biomes of the world. and researched which carnivals herbivores and omnivores lived in each of them. We complimented this learning in geography mapping out the biomes across the globe. In English we explore the main characters of our new narrative and created character slinky to represent their personality traits. We ended the week with a fantastic for school session enjoying problem-solving, getting dirty and exploring nature within our school grounds.
