Gaps starter: Work through the SPAG questions.

In English we will be learning how to write using relative clauses. A relative clause is a subordinating clause that always starts with a relative clause. We will look at examples of relative clauses and together practice writing them. As we become more confident we will practice moving the relative clause to a different place in the sentence and discuss the effect it has.

Take the boring sentences and add relative clauses to make them more interesting. Practice moving the position of the relative clause and ensure you put the commas in the correct place.

We will start by reading the Vikings text and considering what genre the text is.
